"The residents definitely had the greatest impact on me. I became so attached to them, and it was very hard to say goodbye! The smallest things make them so happy. All of them have such a positive outlook on life, which is so amazing considering what they have been through. Their optimism as well as Sandie and Bruce's dedication to them has certainly inspired me to get involved in more activities that help others."

I participated in outdoor sports, tool long walks with them, helped some of them with homework and simply had conversations with them, which is often all they want to do with volunteers. I believe my efforts were successful, and I truly established new friendships when I was there."
