Volunteer in China

China (Rural)
In this program you will be based in the village of Jiuguan teaching English to local kindergarten and primary school students. As with the urban program there is a strong need to learn English in order for the students to become successful. However, in this program most of the students you will be working with will be from poor farming families who cannot afford to send their children to better resourced city schools.

The need in the Urban Teaching Program is for volunteers to teach English as the Chinese nation has an objective to become bilingual in the next decade. You'll find that the schools are relatively well resourced with modern facilities. This program is ideal for volunteers who wish to experience the Chinese culture and help Chinese students to learn English in a city with a well developed infrastructure.
